Carillion sells Barclay Mowlem to Laing O'Rouke Australia for £30M

Contractor Carillion is has sold its Australian contracting business Barclay Mowlem to Laing O'Rourke Australia for £30M in cash.
Carillion acquired the business as part of it recent takeover ovce Mowlem but is selling it to pursue its strategy of focusing on core growth.Barclay Mowlem has its head office is in Sydney, Australia, is focused on a number of construction markets in Australia and South East Asia. It had sales of £380 million and a loss before tax of £16.4 million last year. The sale will not include Barclay Mowlem's 13.9 per cent interest in Freightlink, the Special Purpose Company responsible for the Alice to Darwin PPP rail project.Related links:Today's top stories
