CAN confirmed for Beaminster Tunnel soil nailing contract

Dorset County Council (DCC) has announced that CAN Geotechnical has been awarded the contract to undertake the soil nailing work to stabilise the slopes above the Beaminster Tunnel portals.

Test nails were installed at the site on 10 January by Can and are expected to be tested this week but DCC has confirmed that the preliminary work went well.

The council has said that a start date for the main soil nailing work will not be confirmed until land owner agreements have been finalised but it hopes to have the tunnel reopened by 31 May.
