Camp Bastion: logistics the issue not military campaign

I am sure that many other civil engineers, including those who served in the Royal Engineers or the RAF's Airfield Construction Branch, enjoyed reading the excellent paper you published on the construction of Camp Bastion.

Andrew Wood is entitled to 'nit-pick' about the differences between civil and military engineering. The fact that he does not choose to be associated with military projects is his own personal choice and should be respected.

He might also have the humility to accept that his views are not necessarily those of the rest of the Institution's members, and that his right to freely express them was bought at the price of many thousands of lives – a large number of civil engineers among them.
