DIARY

The Deep Earth: The structure and evolution of the interior of our planet 23-24 November, Burlington House, London.

The Geological Society's annual William Smith meeting will focus on recent advances in knowledge of the structure, composition and behaviour of the Earth's mantle and core. The meeting is aimed at all earth scientists, providing a forum for review and discussion of the key features of the Earth and its evolution. There will be papers from petrologists, seismologists, mineralogists, geochemists and geomagnetists.

The 2005 William Smith lecturer will be Raymond Jeanloz from the University of California.
