Busy start for new kids on SI block

A NEW SITE investigation firm, CC Ground Investigations, has been set up in Gloucester.

Its founders are Rob Clarke and Mark Carden, former colleagues at local site investigation contractor Geotechnical Engineering.

The firm has a Terrier 2000 track mounted drilling rig and window sampling equipment.

It also offers subcontract services for cable percussive drilling, rotary drilling, trial pitting and concrete coring logging and reporting.

Clarke said the firm had been very busy since it started six months ago. 'The Terrier rig has proved very popular and is in great demand, so we are planning to buy a second one, ' he added.

The firm has already worked with high profile firms such as Hyder Consulting, WS Atkins, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Arcadis Geraghty & Miller. Its recent Link Up registration also allows it to work on Railtrack contracts.
