WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff has said that its takeover of Mouchel Consulting will be finished in July, when the two companies will be fully integrated.
Kier sold Mouchel Consulting to WSP for £75M last year, after announcing it was looking for buyers earlier in the summer.
WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff also revealed that the acquisition has given it the capacity to take on bigger projects.
WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff managing director of transport and infrastructure Steve Smith said that the move has added 1,700 people to its operation, giving it the skills set and capacity to compete for jobs on a bigger level.
“These projects are large and will require a significant number of technical staff performing services, be it for High Speed 2 (HS2) or Highways England,” he said.
“It’s quite important you have the proper size of operation to be able to properly perform and complete work in the timescales required.”
WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff said it will be going for the main HS2 station designs tenders due out in the spring, after winning High Speed 2 (HS2) package of work for the concept design of the Euston station terminus.
