Tarmac wins M25 resurfacing contract

Motorway operator Connect Plus has awarded Tarmac Contracting a £10M per year framework contract to provide resurfacing services for the M25.

The contract could run for up to 12 years and covers the resurfacing 440km of motorway, as well as arterial link roads around the M25.

Tarmac previously had a five year contract with Connect Plus.

“This major award reflects our strong working relationship with Connect Plus and our proven track record of close collaboration with network operators to improve network capacity, minimise disruption and prioritise the safety of road users,” said Tarmac Contracting managing director Paul Fleetham.

“As well as providing skilled delivery and technical expertise, we will draw on our extensive asphalt plant network in the South East to provide on-demand access to high-quality materials.”

Under the contract, Tarmac will provide resurfacing, fine milling and joint sealing services to reduce whole-life costs across the motorway. The company has recently taken over civil engineering contractor JB Riney.
