Specialist contractors sought for £270M roads framework

highways england

Highways England is seeking bids from specialist contractors for a £270M construction works framework (CWF) for Area 10 in the north west.

The CWF will last four years and will be made up of contractors from different specialist areas.

Highways England published the tender documents for a maintenance and response contractor deal worth £326M for Area 10 in February.

The framework will cover civil engineering works including earthworks, road restraints, and structures including piling and retention walls and structural concrete.

It is split into 14 lots, which include drainage, expansion joints, general civil engineering, landscape and ecology, and structures and structural services.

Firms can bid for a maximum of three lots and win a maximum of three lots. Awards have an 80:20 weighting of quality to price.
