Preferred bidder named for Sellafield framework

Sellafield has named Amec Foster Wheeler and Interserve joint venture, OneAIM, as preferred bidder for its operations site works (OSW) framework.

The OSW framework winner will offer engineering support services including plant and equipment installation at Sellafield, as well as operational support and removal services at the site.

The OSW replaces most elements of two existing frameworks, which will expire in May and June respectively. Sellafield cited lower costs as a key reason for consolidating the two frameworks as it will remove overhead duplication.

The OSW framework will sit alongside the existing Decommissioning Delivery Partnership (DDP) and the Infrastructure Strategic Alliance (ISA) frameworks.

Meanwhile, Sellafield recently announced plans to appoint four delivery partners under its programme and project partners (PPP) model, which covers decommissioning work over the next 20 years.
