The 2016 Open Doors programme of events will provide the oportunity to visit a construction site from 13 to 18 June.
Build UK, which runs the event, said that it is aimed at giving everyone the opportunity to visit some of the “biggest and best” construction projects in the UK.
Skanska, Bam and Carillion are among the contractors taking part in the initative with over 120 sites around the country including the new Design Museum in London, Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, and the Steiner Academy in Bristol.
“The opportunities to learn on a construction site are limitless,” said an Open Doors spokesperson.
“It doesn’t just involve architecture and building – there is a full range of activities that take place including archaeology, design, engineering, and much more.
“#OpenDoors16 gives you an idea of the complexity, diversity and intricate detail involved in some of today’s most fascinating projects.”
Many sites are still available to visit.
