Colas buys airports specialist

Eastmidlands 1 jpg

Colas has bought Allied Infrastructure Management, a contractor which covers the airports, highways and defence sectors, for an undisclosed sum.

Leigh-based Allied Infrastructure has an annual turnover of £13M and its experience includes working on a tight-turnaround airside jobs, similar to the project an alliance including Colas recently completed at East Midlands Airport, where it undertook a large resurfacing project in a few weekends.

Allied Infrastructure will operate as a separate entity to Colas and there will be no staff or management changes. It also has specialist areas of concrete cutting and drilling, surface preparation and civil engineering.
