Balfour Beatty wins £124M Wokingham highways deal

NCE stock roads

Balfour Beatty has won a £124M contract for a major highways programme in Wokingham, Berkshire.

The four year contract was awarded under the Scape Group’s National Civil Engineering and Infrastructure framework. Included in the package of works is the planning, design and construction of nine road schemes in Wokingham and four strategic development roads giving access to 12,000 new homes.

The contractor said early engagement had enabled it to help with the development of the scheme and mitigate risks.

Balfour Beatty is the only contractor on the £1.5bn Scape framework.

Work is due to start later this month.
