Transport for London is working on improving bus priority and bus stops on 27 routes by March 2002. A flat rate bus fare of 70p throughout London is planned. It is hoped to double the number of central London double deck buses with conductors by 2004.

RATP is building a network of high quality, low floor buses and bus stops with real time information known as the Mobilien project. Fourteen lines are planned in central Paris and 45 in the suburbs. Six lines will open this year, 10 in 2002 and 15 in 2003.
