Building the biggest and best

There seems to be another colossal feat of engineering completed with every issue of Insite.

This time it’s the turn of Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 building. But no sooner does one project reach the finish line, than others start gaining pace. Engineers are working their magic on London’s Olympic stadium, crowning it with the most magnificent steel roof, while deep under the city, drawings are being produced for the £16bn Crossrail rail line.

And don’t forget the tallest building in the world is taking shape in Dubai.

This is the stuff engineers dream about. Environmental issues are also top of our agenda. We have a competition called, “Sustainability – what does it mean to you?”, where we want to hear your thoughts on the environment. Enter the competition and you could win a brand new bike – a very sustainable form of transport!
