Brunel's tunnel - The engineering geology legacy

4-5 May, Natural History Museum, London. The Brunel 200th anniversary symposium.

Celebration of the birth of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the history of the development of his Thames tunnel, the impact that geology has had on tunnelling and the implications for future projects.

Speakers include Sir Alan Muir Wood. Event includes gala dinner and trip to the Brunel Museum, guided tour through the tunnel and trip to Gilbert's Pit, Rotherhithe.
