British Construction Industry Awards

FINAL FLING: Brilliant summer daylight showed off the spectacular roof truss and sunblock glazing to best advantage at the British Museum's Queen Elizabeth II Great Court in London during the British Construction Industry Awards final judging visit. The BCIA judges interviewed 20 design/construction/client teams at the sites of their work in the UK. Results of the BCI Awards will be revealed at a dinner at the London Hilton on 24 October. The categories are Small Project (up to £3M), Building (up to £50M), Civil Engineering (up to £50M), Major Project (over £50M), International, and the Best Practice Award (sponsored by the Construction Best Practice Programme). To be presented for the first time in 2001 is the Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award. This prestigious new accolade will recognise excellence in conception and delivery of public buildings and infrastructure projects 'of any size commissioned by or on behalf of central or local government or by a grant-aided organisation'.
