ON THE ROPES: Each hangar assembly consists of four, 44mm diameter ropes grouped in pairs and originally fixed to the deck through a single bolted steel casting (left). The new fixture (right), being examined by Fairhurst partner Alan Simpson, is a double socket and eye arrangement allowing cable adjustments and easy release should any hangar need replacing again.
