Bridge twist

Jackson Civil Engineering carried out the £1M contract to replace a skewed steel girder underbridge which carries the London Tilbury & Southend Line during a 100 hour possession over the Easter weekend.

The bridge sits beside another bridge carrying the Docklands Light Railway which continued to operate over Easter. So work had to be carried out to ensure major crane lifts for the precast concrete reconstruction were performed within a four hour 'window of opportunity' on the Saturday morning.
