Bouygues wins Paris metro tunnel scheme

A Bouygues-led team has secured a €165M (£131M) tunnel deal on the Paris metro.

The consortium, consisting of Bouygues Travaux Publics, Soletanche Bachy France, Soletanche Bachy Tunnels and CSM Bessac, was awarded the second tunnel package on the extension of the French capital’s Line 14.

It will build a 2.2km tunnel linking Clichy-St Ouen and Pleyel, as well as constructing Mairie de St Ouen station and four ancillary structures.

With a focus on sustainable construction techniques, all excavated materials will be evacuated by river.

Work will begin this summer.
