ICE news

BOTTOMS UP: RedR's wine tasting evening at the ICE raised over £10,000 last month through ticket sales, an auction and raffle, when 250 enthusiastic engineers, bankers, accountants and lawyers turned out to sample some of the world's best plonk. ICE director general Tom Foulkes opened the evening, followed by Professor Paul Jowitt who gave a presentation on the ICE presidential commission 'Engineering without Frontiers'. RedR is an international charity which selects and trains engineers to provide life-saving disaster relief in over 80 deprived countries. It is currently operating in Iran, Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Anyone interested in joining RedR should call (020) 7233 3116 or visit www. redr. org
