Bosphorus tunnel complete

The world's deepest immersed tunnel has been successfully laid in Turkey, linking the Berlin to Baghdad by rail. The 1.4km concrete tunnel rests in a trench up to 58m below the surface. It will carry 3,500 commuters per train when services begin in 2012/13.
