Blocked culvert causes A83 landslide

The A83 remained closed last night following a landslide yesterday, which is thought to have been caused by a boulder blocking a culvert.

Geotechnical assessment of the failed slope at Butterbridge below Rest and Be Thankful is currently being carried out while debris is cleared from the road.

Bear Scotland has said that the slope is still unstable and there is a large boulder damming the channel upslope from the road. The 60 mile diversions will remain in place until the situation is resolved.
