Two of London's most notorious towerblocks came to a spectacular end on Sunday in a highly complex operation by blast specialist Controlled Demolition. Razing the two 1960s 22-storey blocks at Lomas Court and Cedar Court for Hackney Council involved detailed planning to ensure that existing structures close by - including a recently refurbished block only 22m away - were not damaged.
