Bits and pieces

The Kawasaki-designed TBMs were manufactured in Sheffield by Kvaerner. Parts were assembled in Middlesbrough and transported by road in sections to the site at Stratford. Final assembly of the 120m long machines took place in Stratford station box, in east London. On reaching St Pancras the TBMs will be dismantled and taken out of the tunnel is pieces.
