Bishopsgate office on site in 17 weeks

Exterior Construction and Foggo Associates managed to get a 25,000sq ft office block in Bishopsgate on to site from start of scheme design in just 17 weeks.

'And we procured 70% of the packages in that period,' said project manager Jonathan Williams. Speed of design and procurement were key aims of client HQ Business Centres.

'We were keen to get involved in the demonstration projects scheme as we saw it as a useful vehicle to allow us to put in place a lot of the things we thought would improve the building process.'

Foggo and Exterior have worked with the client to create a bespoke steel frame design that is quick to erect and cost effective to procure.

'There are only three riser shafts and we have moved the boiler plant out of the basement to create additional space,' said Williams. 'And we have ordered prefabricated boiler plant that can be lifted on to the roof.'

The building is already two weeks ahead of a 40 week schedule.
