With reference to the radio ballads (NCE 23 March) it seems unlikely that American jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker had much of an involvement in their recording as he died in 1955.

The Charles in question is not 'Bird' but British actor, writer, singer and radio producer Charles Parker.
