Bhogal takes over as ICE's new number two

A SHAKE-UP at the ICE this week created the new post of deputy chief executive for deputy secretary and director of engineering Amar Bhogal.

Bhogal takes responsibility for the ICE's international aspirations as well as its internal day to day running.

The move allows chief executive Mike Casebourne to take a more strategic view of the ICE's future, in particular the ICE's position within the new look Engineering Council.

The Engineering Council is set to make sweeping changes to its operations as it aspires to a more direct role in the industry (NCE 22 March). This will culminate in its relaunch as the Engineering & Technology Board in October.

Casebourne will continue to oversee the professional development and communications departments, and will continue to develop the ICE's alliance with the American Society of Civil Engineers.
