Bewl storage reservoir only 36% full


The Environment Agency will this week decide whether to allow Southern Water to top up the Bewl storage reservoir with water from the River Medway. The reservoir is only 36% full compared to an average level of 81%. Only 605mm of rain fell during 2005 in south east England, 127mm less than average.
