FOUR MAJOR ground engineering Belgian contractors - Soils NV, Silt NV, Bitumar NV and OEC NV - have merged to form DEC Environmental Contractors.
A company spokesman said unification of the four DEME- and VMH-owned companies 'enables optimisation of technical skills and consolidates know-how on insitu and exsitu contaminated soil, sludge and groundwater treatment, waste disposal, recycling technology, contaminated site remediation, hydraulic works and bio-engineering creating a platform for controlled growth'.
General manager and chairman is Hugo de Vlieger; Veerle Vercruysse is general manager Flanders; and Frank Elskens is general manager export.
