Ruby Kitching explains that engineering technicians make up 7% of the total UK workforce (2.75M of approximately 40M workers) and 40% of the German engineering workforce (NCE last week).

I do not suppose that there are statistics available for the percentage of UK engineering staff or percentage of the total German workforce who are technicians, so that a meaningful comparison could be made between the two countries?
