Bechtel launches smart infrastructure guide

Bechtel has launched a guide providing engineering insights on how to create smart urban infrastructure.

The interactive guide is aimed at city officials and planners in the US, but is available for download in the UK too.

It is based on the Roadmap for Resilience report, which was produced as part of the Re: Invest initiative, in which Bechtel took part. The initiative helped guide infrastructure strategies for eight US cities including San Francisco, Miami Beach and New Orleans.

The guide has been launched to coincide part of the US Smart Cities Week

It looks at six sectors different sectors – built environment, energy, overgound and underground transport, water management and communications – giving tips and advice for future-proofing infrastructure projects.

The guide then goes on to assist with project planning, detailing progressive thinking on infrastructure and covering areas such as formulating strategy and planning infrastructure systems across sectors.
