BRITANNIA OFFSHORE gas project in the North Sea is the first of 13 stellar civil engineering and building projects to be eliminated from the contest to find greatest British Construction Industry Award winner of the past 20 years. The online vote is part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the BCIA awards. A different project will be eliminated each week and the winner will be announced on 10 October at the BCIA Gala Dinner.

The 12 projects still on the list are: Cardiff Bay Barrage; Channel Tunnel Rail Link Section 1; Second Severn Crossing; Jubilee Line Extension; Sizewell B Power Station; City of Manchester Stadium; Channel Tunnel; Eden Project; Tate Modern; HM Treasury refurbishment; Broadgate phases 1-4; and Stansted Airport Terminal.
