BCIA awards call for entries

CLOSING DATE for entries for this year's British Construction Industry Awards is 19 May.

The awards are open to any building or civil engineering project (or well defined section of a project) in the UK or overseas - if there is significant involvement of British firms.Projects must have been completed between 1 May 1999 and 31 May 2000.

The categories are: the small project award (value below £2M), the building award, the civil engineering award (both above £2M but under £50M) and the major project award (value in excess of £50M).

A best practice award will go to a project shortlisted for one of the abaove categories.The international award is open to projects outside the UK where either the principal designer or principal contractor is a UK-based British firm.

The judging panel will be chaired by Sir Andrew Turnbull, permanent secretary to the Treasury, and results will be announced at a gala awards dinner in London on 18 October.
