BBV in tie-up with specialist flood firm

News :

BINNIE BLACK & Veatch has formed an alliance with specialist consultant Lewin & Fryer to counter shortages of flooding engineers.

An increased flood scheme workload from the Environment Agency and problems recruiting suitably trained staff prompted the move which gives BBV access to 50 staff at the specialist firm.

Lewin & Fryer has offices in Hampton, Bradford-on-Avon and Plymouth.

BBV framework manager Matthew Nott said this week that the alliance would effectively make Lewin & Fryer a BBV sub-contractor, as it would provide skills and staff on a managed, rather than ad-hoc basis.

But he added that the smaller company would also benefit from the deal. 'Lewin & Fryer gains security of workload in the future, with less risk and reduced marketing costs as the work is coming in from us, ' he said.
