Bauer's International Project Division

Bauer's International Project Division recently completed piling for eight bridges and flyovers on the new 45km long Benin City bypass in the Niger Delta, Nigeria.

One of the foundation contractor's BG22 rotary rigs installed 370, 1200mm diameter bored piles between 25m to 33m deep through a variety of materials, including laterites, sand and clay.

Bauer, working for main contractor Strabag Construction Nigeria, installed 10,000m of piles for the scheme, one of the first infrastructure projects carried out under the Nigerian government's Niger Delta Development Programme. It is hoped the bypass will defuse some of the chaotic traffic problems in the provincial capital.
