Bauer is hoping to cram up to eight very big machines for piling and geotechnical processes on its 600m2 pitch in the open showground.

The German manufacturer is working flat out to complete its first BG42 diaphragm walling rig for the exhibition. This is an additional model in Bauers range of specialist deep trench cutting rigs for installing structural walls, cut off diaphragms and specialist mining work. A barge mounted BC50 cutter has been employed off the coast of Namibia as a sampling tool in a trial of diamond mining from offshore alluvial deposits. At Puclaro Dam in Chile a BC30 cutter and two hydraulic grabs are installing a 16,800m2 cutoff.

A star item at Bauma is its BF20 deep vibrator which can compact loose ground and instal stone columns down to a depth of 20m. Reader reply 803
