Bauer signs collaboration agreement for deep drilling rig development

Bauer’s Deep Drilling division has announced that it has signed an agreement with a subsidiary of Schlumberger to develop a new range of deep onshore drilling rigs.

Under the agreement Bauer Deep Drilling will work with international drilling contractor Saxon Energy Services to develop a drilling rig designed for applications in the oil and gas sector.

“The cooperation with an established and renowned drilling contractor such as Saxon marks another major step forward for us in expanding our deep drilling operations,” said Bauer chairman of the management board Thomas Bauer. “I am sure that the agreement will prove highly beneficial to both companies.”

The rig, which has been given the product name ATD 750, will have a hook load of 375t and is expected to be ready for operational use in 2015.
