Bauer reports rising revenues

Ground engineering contractor and equipment producer Bauer has reported a 5.2% rise in revenues to €1.37bn (£1.12bn) for the last financial year, although net profits were down 16.7% at €34.1M (£27.9M).

“We are satisfied with 2011 overall,” says Bauer chairman of the management board Thomas Bauer. “Our strategy has proved its strength over the last year. The group’s broad international spread and the long-term strategic plan underpinning our products and services have enabled us to cope well with external disturbances.”

Equipment sales saw the strongest growth in 2011 with sales rising 13.6% to €661M (£541M) and the company reported that it expects this growth to continue in 2012.

Bauer also reported that the overall order book for its construction, equipment and resources divisions was up 22% at €750M (£614M) at the end of the year, which Bauer says provides a sounds foundation for the growth planned over the coming years.
