BAM preferred bidder £600M schools programme

Somerset County Council has appiointed a BAM- led consortium to carry out its £600M Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

The first phase will be the £100M rebuilding of Bridgwater’s four secondary and two special schools, with workexpected to begin shortly after Financial Close in June 2010.

BAM will be Somerset’s private sector partner for the Local Education Partnership, the company which will be established specifically for the delivery of the BSF Programme and the transformation of education across Somerset.

Director of BAM PPP, Robert Young, said: “e look forward to working with the Council, schools, communities and other stakeholders in Bridgwater, and thereafter across Somerset, to make the Somerset BSF Programme a huge success for all concerned.”
