Balfour Beatty wins Welsh university project

Aberystwyth University has named contractor Balfour Beatty preferred bidder for a £45M student accommodation contract.

The 32 year concession contract will see Balfour Beatty responsible for designing, building and maintenance of accommodation facilities.

“We are delighted to have been selected as preferred bidder for this long-term contract in the student accommodation sector, our second success in this area in five months,” said Balfour Beatty chief executive officer designate Andrew McNaughton.

“We look forward to working with the local supply chain to deliver this project.”

The contractor recently won a £110M student accommodation project for University of Edinburgh last August.
