Balfour Beatty’s Hong Kong joint venture Gammon has won two major contracts worth a total of £594M.
The first contract, worth £364M, is for a project at Somerset House in Taikoo Place. Somerset House will be redeveloped into a 48-storey office. A workforce of 1,400 will build the superstructure, which is expected to be completed in 2018.
Gammon chief executive Thomas Ho said: “We are delighted to have been selected by Swire Properties and to be involved with this landmark project. Gammon’s advanced technological standards and expertise in building construction was critical for the award of this project.”
The joint venture has also won a £300M residential and commercial development project at Tseung Kwan O Town Lot No. 93, which will include six towers, of 12 to 18 storeys each.
