Balfour Beatty Costain

Main contractor Balfour Beatty Costain has flooded the massive temporary cofferdam surrounding the central lock and sluice complex on the 94M Cardiff Bay Barrage project. Temporary sluice gates were opened on a falling tide at 9.30am last Friday morning and flooding was complete by the high tide at 4pm. By Tuesday this week a 150m gap in the cofferdam wall had been opened.
