Balfour Beatty consider facilities management sale

Contractor Balfour Beatty last week confirmed that it is considering selling its facilities management Work Place division.

The company responded to press speculation that it was considering selling the business, which made £500M in 2011, to focus on infrastructure projects.

A statement released by the contractor said that the company was “exploring strategic options for this business in keeping with its strategy to focus on economic infrastructure.”

The firm underwent a major restructuring last year and its chief executive Ian Tyler departed last month.
