Balfour Beatty boosts its PPP value

Balfour Beatty has added £330M to the value of its public-private partnership investments.

The contractor, which was the subject of an intense merger bid by rival Carillion recently, adjusted the figure after selling assets for more than anticipated.

It said in a statement to the City this morning that it was increasing the directors’ valuation of its PPP portfolio to £1.05bn as of June 2014.

“Disposals of UK assets over the last few years have highlighted the growing difference between the directors’ valuation and the values achievable for our UK investments in the open market,” said Balfour.
