Bachy Soletanche buys Vibro Group UK

BACHY SOLETANCHE has taken over Vibro Group UK after buying an 80% stake in the firm.

The move is part of a plan to win a larger share of the UK vibro-flotation market.

Bachy Soletanche hopes to use labour and plant from its 80% owned Vibroflation Group to help Vibro Group UK bid for bigger schemes in the UK and increase market share.

Vibroflotation is currently working on some major projects in Dubai including the Palm, Jebel Ali.

'The acquisition of an 80% shareholding in the UK Vibro Group will allow us to compete strongly within the UK market, ' said Bachy managing director, Martin Pratt.

'We targeted the UK Vibro Group because we have a very good working relationship with them and we can see potential for growth, ' he added. 'Our international strength and access to plant and technical assistance will help the UK company to widen the scope of works they are able to offer and participate in larger projects.' Vibro Group UK will continue to be managed by Brendan Henry, who retains a 20% shareholding.
