Award deadline extended

THE DEADLINE for entry in the inaugural Ken Fleming Award has been extended to mid-July.

The British Geotechnical Association prize, sponsored by Kvaerner Cementation Foundations, will honour the long career of the firm's Ken Fleming. The award and £3000 prize money will go to a project team demonstrating a high level of excellence in geotechnical design and construction.

Entries should demonstrate team working and the benefits on a geotechnical project. Teams should include at least three individuals from different organisations such as geotechnical contractor, main contractor, consultant, project manager or client.

The only requirement is that one team member must be a BGA member.

Judging will take place at an awards evening at the ICE in London on 13 September.
