Australian civil engineers

Australian civil engineers have successfully used a specially adapted hovercraft to investigate extremely soft ground, according to the latest issue (vol 149 no 2) of the ICE/ BGA Geotechnical Engineering journal. The two-man craft was fitted with a full range of equipment to carry out tests on the vast gold mining waste sites in western Australia.
