Atkins wins major Norwegian signalling contract

Consultant Atkins has won one of the main design contracts to design new signalling systems on the new Follo line in Oslo, Norway.

Atkins is teaming up with Norwegian engineering consultancy Aas Jakobsen to design new signalling systems on the new line on the approach to Oslo Central Station.

Works will also involve track alterations at Oslo Central Station requiring complex traffic management plans and robust construction programmes.

The Follo line runs through a densely built up area of Oslo, with many cultural heritage sites which must be protected.
