Atkins secures Fluor chief

Atkins has appointed Fluor chief Phil Todd for a key project oversight role as it continues to shake up its leadership structure.

Todd becomes group managing director for major projects, reporting directly to Donald Lawson, chief executive of worldwide operations at subsidiary company Faithful + Gould.

Todd will lead a team focusing on enhancing Atkins’ project capability across the globe.

In May, the company announced a reshuffle that will see Douglas McCormick, who currently heads up UK rail, free to focus on international opportunities in the sector.

Then last month Atkins appointed former Bombardier chief Abdeljabbar Ben Salem as head of rail systems.

Atkins’ chief executive officer Uwe Krueger said this week: “The appointment of a group major projects director is a strategically important step for Atkins as we look to increase our focus on winning and delivering large and complex projects.”
