Atkins Inspire awards


Civil engineers walked away with the top prizes at the inaugural Atkins Inspire awards last week. The awards, which are backed by NCE, recognise the achievements of women in the built environment.

Arup director and civil engineer Joanna Kennedy won the prestigious Woman of the Year award (see feature p12).

Another Arup director Jo da Silva won the Future of the Industry award. Other civil engineers to walk away with prizes included Ruth Hopgood of Expedition Engineering who won the Civil Engineering Future Star, Civil Engineering Outstanding Achiever Sarah Buck of BSW Consulting and Civil Engineering Inspirational Leader Arpinder Bansi, divisional manager of Atkins Highways.
